Teen Board

In Spring 2009, with encouragement from teenage company members, Mercury Summer Stock established a teen board. The board's mission is to help build participation among their peers in support of the Theatre's teen programming, including: stage productions, education, and community events.

What exactly is the Mercury Summer Stock Teen Board?

Twelve high school students, 13 to 18 years old
Operates in conjunction with Mercury’s Board of Directors
Attends bi-monthly meetings to develop and lead teen programs
Learns about theatre operations
Creates communications for teens
Meets with Artistic Director and Managing Director to establish
programming
Meets arts professionals and leading regional artists
Represents Mercury Summer Stock Teen Board in the community
Develops leadership skills

Mercury Summer Stock is providing teen theatergoers and arts enthusiasts with a unbeatable deal for our 2010 season!

All teens 13-19 can receive this deeply discounted rate by purchasing our Thursday Night's Teen Night subscription!

Accompanying adults (not required but always welcome!) can share in the savings by getting a discounted subscription for just $30 (regular ticket prices are $15 per show)

Mercury Summer Stock's Teen Board's last coffee house event (May 21st's Spring Awakenings) was such a success that we are thrilled to be hosting our second open mic night!!! Any and all teens are invited to step up and perform in any number of ways:

Sing
Read poetry or a monologue
Dance
Mime
Tell a joke
or anything else you might wish to do!

Those interested in performing should contact Ryan Haddad at ryanjhaddad@gmail.com or Kelvette Beacham at kdb25@case.edu on or before Sunday, May 16. You may choose to perform one or two selections (songs, poems, etc.), unless the number of performers exceeds the amount of time available, in which case you will be limited to one selection. Hurry and reserve your spot today! We recommend that you rehearse your piece before performing before an audience. And don't forget to bring your friends and family to watch you perform!!!

Adults and non-performing teens are strongly encouraged to attend this relaxing, enjoyable evening of entertainment. There is no charge for admission, but there is a one-beverage minimum (non-alcoholic for those under 21). Donations to Mercury Summer Stock's Teen Board would also be greatly appreciated!
