Dear Fellow Constituents of The Arts,

2008! A year to go down in the history books:

      • America elects its 43rd President.
      • Fidel Castro steps down as leader of Cuba.
      • And Mercury Summer Stock turns 10 years old!

In this monumental election year, we ask for you to vote Mercury Summer Stock as your primary summer theatrical entertainment. For the past nine years, Mercury Summer Stock has brought you the best summer entertainment on a conservative budget.  We continue that tradition in 2008 with a lineup that will be sure to spawn liberal laughs, an independent tear or two and a summer to remember for the whole family.

Presenting our 2008 candidates!

  • Honk!, June 13-28. A return engagement of Mercury’s most popular show! Join Ugly, the duck, on his hilarious and heartwarming journey to find true beauty in one’s self. Come see the original production that sparked a North-East Ohio theatrical phenomenon. Rated G.
  • Blood Brothers, July 11-26. Mercury’s cult classic, starring real-life brothers Brian and Dan Marshall, returns to our stage. The haunting rags to riches tale of two twins separated at birth comes to life in this unforgettable masterpiece. Not to be missed! Rated PG-13.
  • The Utter Glory of Morrissey Hall, August 8-23. An Ohio Premiere. From the author of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown, this British comedy tells us what happens when rumors of white slavery break out at an all-girls school in England in the 1950s. Laugh out loud to the misadventures of the original Girls Gone Wild! Rated PG.
  • Blues Clues Live! The Most Spectacular Place, July 12-August 23 (Sat. matinees at 1:00 pm). Steve and Blue lead the audience on a clue-based journey in search of the most spectacular places in the world. A perfect afternoon with the grandkids! Rated G.

To create this winning 2008 lineup, Mercury Summer Stock needs you.

Top-notch productions cost mega-bucks to produce. And we strive for top-notch! Even with sold-out houses, ticket sales cover only 45% of the production budget. With one eye on the economy and the other stage left, we vow not to raise our admission and keep our ticket prices the cheapest in town. This is where we can use your assistance.

If everyone in our mailing list could give a campaign contribution (100% tax deductible) of just $24.50 we will reach our goal, opening the doors for 10 more years of theatrical accomplishments! Of course, if you elect to toss in a few more dollars, we won’t complain. In fact, for just $98.00 each, we will throw in one season subscription, granting you one admission to each performance on the date of your choice.

Your past generosity has been inspiring. Thanks, in advance for your contribution! See you this summer!

Sincerely,

Pierrea aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaBrian
